OFFICIAL STATEMENT:
I have been involved in football for over 10 years. In these 10 years, I have had the immense fortune to coach in 7 countries across 4 different continents. Football was, and is, something unique to each of them, with its own characteristics and differences. I always go to these contexts guided by three fundamental, unwavering principles: love, respect, and dignity—for football, for myself, and for my beliefs about this sport that gives so much. These principles have been shattered this season by a situation as unjust as it is illegal, directly impacting the game and the values it promotes. This situation directly affects our club, but also the rest of the clubs in the country, a country that is once again left looking utterly ridiculous and abandoned in the eyes of the football world. When corruption becomes systemic, the only option left is to speak out. This corruption plays with the resources, dreams, and years of hard work of a group of people dedicated to improving and developing this sport they love so much. Radical changes are needed for football to be the beautiful and passionate place it should be, in a place as wonderful as Taiwan, which is far superior to those responsible for corrupting it from the ground up. From the perspective of a simple football coach, I ask those responsible for deep reflection, consistency, and hard work so that there is still hope for a better football here. My thanks to my players for their exceptional performance throughout the year, battling against unfair circumstances with sacrifice and passion. A wonderful season comes to an end, with the goal in mind that the next one will be even better.
